Inspired by Lyn's adorable panda purse I made this cute little guy who is soon to be listed on Custom Mom
There's just something so darned adorable about panda bears.
Additional: maybe I'm on to something here. My daughter flipped over the panda face. she wants a t-shirt of one. hmmm. Pandaphelia is contageous.
Since I've already got one homage, let's go for 2. After talking with the insanely talented Heidi Kenney yesterday, I started doodling this little guy. What do you think? Is he bib material?

The first one is a green onesie with similar to the pink one I made but smaller and with different spacing. The second one is a characture of Dr. Who characters on the request of my brother. He's sending it to a friend in the UK. Hey, I'm international.
Now, on a non-crafty note, I got this beauty in Tiburon, CA at a lovely boutique. Now, is it a pashmina or a poncho? a ponchmina?

Okay, so I was seriously considering giving up on the idea that I could make money with KiWi Cuties (the bibs and tees) but I decided not to give up on myself...just yet. It's too soon to throw in the bib. I'm gonna make it after all. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again! (was that too over the top? I can never tell.)
So go, leave this blog and check out CUSTOM MOM to make a young..ish gal's dreams come true.

Vintage Sister lipbalm
some P/Kaufman fabric
Body Shop liquid lip color (why yes, I am obsessed with my lips)
These candy ornaments from Pier One
These utterly cool greek take-out coffee mugs
CB2's glasses">Tall Tini glasses
and...whatever else I think of...:)
We just got back from a week in California where we check out the Monterey Aquarium, the Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, sailing on the bay, lots of sushi, cold stone creamery and too much shopping.
Baby Frankie had her first Thanksgiving and we discovered the yummy goodness that is Odwalla bars.
Pictured is my daughter at Ocean Beach. It was about 65 degrees...it's about 30 degrees here at home.

Meet Claire and Rowanne. Claire is from southeastern Indiana and her cousin, Rowanne, is visiting from Arizona. Rowanne is hoping to see some snow before she heads back home.
After seeing Hilary's snowbabies, maybe I should knit them some sweaters and hats.
additional: my daughter seems to think their names should be Jenna and Nikki.

I love phildar patterns. Especially their children's patterns. The new Tricotez Câlin is up on their french site to preview and drool over.
The only place I can get these is at at French Canadian knit shop called Knit N' Tyme. Unfortunately, most of these patterns don't come translated and there's only so much 'pidgeon french' I can muddle through.

I'm also working on silk screening. Very basic process, too. I'm nowhere near ready for photo emulsion but I hope to get there eventually. What better place to start than with ninjas?
I'm also working on some new designs for Custom Mom.

I love love love Marimekko's bold graphic prints but cringe in horror at the price per yard. However, all is not lost as they are now offering tea towels. Hmmm, tea towel aprons....small pouches...ipod cozies...headbands...
I also love the coasters and mugs. I'm a sucker for mod flowers.
When my darling daughter was born, there weren't a plethora of stylish options for moms. Sure, if you wanted to look like a layer cake, K-mart could hook you up but otherwise, you were SOL. Now, check out these gorgeous bags available at Custom Mom
Seriously, you should have seen the blue nylon nightmare that I carried at the time. How things have changed.
My Paper Crane
My daughter and I stalk this site checking to see what Heidi will come up with next...like pb and j sandwiches.

WOO! Over at Allsorts, the delightful and fabulous Jenny B. Harris hosted a 13 Days of Halloween costume and my daughter, Sydney, was first runner up!!! She absolutely loved dressing the adorable Zoe in all of the Halloween finery.

I just signed up for my first Purple Pink and Orange swap! It's the December Thrift swap which sounds divine. I loooooooove thrifting. Ever since I was a child going to garage sales I've loved the thrill of the hunt. It's like digging for buried treasure. My best find would have to be my vintage 80's drawstring Louis Vuitton bag for $20.

we had our official grand opening announcement on Custommom.com tonight. I've been working on some new designs but I'm waiting to see what, if anything, sells out of my current offerings before I embark on anything new. Lately, I've been focusing on 'mom oriented' items rather that baby items.

WOO! We are live! Custommom.com is open for business. I'm so excited. I've never done anything like this before so I don't know what to expect. I just hope that it's wildly successful.
